In response to a post where a woman turned a supermarket trolley into a baby stroller, a spokesperson from FairPrice thanks STOMPers who have reported finding FairPrice trolleys beyond the store's premises.
The spokesperson from FariPrice says:
"FairPrice reminds customers to return trolleys after use for the convenience of other shoppers We refer to a STOMP posting titled 'Trolley thieves getting bolder: Woman even turns one into baby stroller' by STOMPer One United on 11April 2012.
"We would like to thank the STOMPer and others who have reported FairPrice trolleys found at various places beyond our store premises. We are heartened that STOMPers agree that such acts are inconsiderate and should not be encouraged.
"Such posts also help us to retrieve our trolleys and we would like to take this opportunity to remind shoppers that our shopping trolleys are provided for our customers' shopping convenience in our stores and they should be returned to designated trolley points.
"Removing trolleys from our stores not only inconveniences others, but also pose a safety hazard and can be considered theft. Should shoppers need to transport their groceries, portable trolleys are available for sale at our stores.
"We hope to encourage all STOMPERs to help us by encouraging other shoppers to return the trolleys after use so that other customers gets to use them too.
"We are confident that, given that the majority of shoppers are doing the right thing, by influencing and encouraging others to do so as well, we can create an even more pleasant shopping experience for everyone."
