Woman found dead in flat, boyfriend to be charged for murder-Yahoo! Singapore(News)

A 25-year-old Singaporean woman was found dead in a Jurong West flat on Saturday morning in what looked to be a fatal lovers’ quarrel.

Police have arrested a 38-year-old man, whom several local media reported is the victim’s boyfriend. According to The Sunday Times, the couple shared the flat with three others.

The same paper
reported that one of the tenants called the police at about 6:45am after finding blood stains on the couple's room door.

The woman was found motionless in the bedroom of a unit in Block 633, Jurong West Street 65, and was pronounced dead by paramedics at 7:30am. She is believed to have suffered multiple slash wounds.

According to reports, the couple, who rented the room some three months ago, had started quarrelling from Friday evening. Neighbours said they did not see the woman coming to the flat for the last two months.

The police was called in by a concerned tenant at around 1am on Saturday. However, the heated argument continued after the police officers left.

Police were seen combing a grassy patch below the HDB block, in search of what is believed to be a body part or a weapon, AsiaOne reported.

The suspect will be charged in court on Sunday. If convicted of murder, he will face the death penalty.
