A woman in Qingdao found a 'bloody' mess when she cracked open an egg she bought from a store. When reporters asked the manufacturer of the egg for an explanation, they were told that it was because the mother hen was menstruating.
According to an online news report, the egg was branded 'Insect Eggs', referring to what the chickens are fed with -- insects.
STOMPer ChickenNugget, who sent in this story, said:
"Chickens don't have a uterus like human females do, so menstruation is impossible.
"Experts have to explanations. Firstly, the hen's fallopian tubes could be inflamed with an E.Coli infection or secondly, it could be the result of how the hen was fed.
"Whatever it is, I definitely don't think it was due to menstruation!"
